Against a low-magic target it is a expensive nothing, comfortably beaten by a bow costing a thousandth as much.

That scaling is the whole point, and it is why buying one because it is the best weapon in the game is a mistake. It is the best weapon against specific things. If the content you actually run is slayer tasks and mid-level bosses, the bow will sit in your bank looking valuable while a blowpipe does more damage.

The honest test is whether you already run the content it is good at. If you are buying the bow in order to start raiding, you are buying it a step too early — the learning curve at Chambers of Xeric is the constraint, not your gear.
