The money moves last
Escrow is not a premium feature or an optional extra here — it is the only way an order can work. There is no path through the marketplace where a seller gets paid before a buyer confirms.
About
Why it exists
Trading in Old School RuneScape has a structural problem. Two strangers agree a deal, and then one of them has to move first. The buyer sends money and hopes the gold follows, or the seller trades the gold and hopes the payment clears. Every long-running scam in the game is some variation of exploiting that moment.
The fix is not more reputation systems or more screenshots. It is removing the moment entirely. On Escrowden neither side sends to the other: the buyer funds a hold, the seller delivers knowing the hold is funded, and the hold opens only when the buyer confirms. The seller never has to trust the buyer’s payment, and the buyer never has to trust the seller’s promise.
The marketplace, the wallet and escrow ledger behind it, seller verification, and the order chat that keeps each trade’s history attached to the trade. Listings and prices come from sellers — Escrowden does not sell gold, items, accounts or services itself, and does not set the rates.
We do not have any relationship with Jagex, and we cannot influence what happens to a game account. We are not a bank, and a wallet balance is not a deposit account. And we do not pretend that real-world trading is risk-free — it breaches Jagex’s terms of service, which is stated plainly on every category page rather than in the small print.
How we operate
Escrow is not a premium feature or an optional extra here — it is the only way an order can work. There is no path through the marketplace where a seller gets paid before a buyer confirms.
Escrow is usually sold as buyer protection. It protects sellers too: a funded hold means no chargeback risk and no arguing about whether a payment was really sent.
Real-world trading breaches Jagex's terms, and bought accounts can be recovered. We put that on the category pages rather than burying it, because a buyer who is surprised later is a buyer we failed.
No countdown timers, no invented 'only 2 left' pressure, no stock numbers that are not real. Listings show what sellers actually have.

For anything about a specific order, use the chat on that order first — it keeps the history in one place and is the fastest route to a resolution. For everything else, including press, partnership and security reports, email support@escrowden.com.
