What you are actually paying for
On a normal account, a bank can be bought. On an ironman it cannot, so the value is entirely in accumulated play — the drops, the resources, the diary and quest completions that unlock efficiency, and the levels behind them.
That means the things to look at are different. Total level tells you less than the specific unlocks: which achievement diaries are done, which quests, whether the account has the drops that gate the content you want to play. Ask for the specifics that matter to you, not just a stats screenshot.
Bear in mind you cannot fix a gap by buying your way out of it afterwards. If a particular unlock matters, verify it before ordering rather than planning to sort it later.
The ownership question is sharper here
Every account purchase carries recovery risk, but the loss is worse on an ironman because it cannot be rebuilt by spending. So the registration email question is not a formality: ask whether the original email is included and unrecovered, and get the answer in the order chat where it is attached to the order.
Ask about sale history too. An account that has passed through several hands has several people who may still be able to recover it, and on an ironman that is an unrecoverable loss rather than an expensive one.
Handover
Payment sits in escrow from the moment you order and is not released until you confirm. The seller passes credentials, and the registration email where it is included, through the order chat.
Change the email, the password and any authenticator immediately. Log in, look through the bank and the achievement tab yourself, and check the things you were told are there actually are. Confirm delivery only when you are satisfied and hold sole access — a dispute freezes the escrow release, but only while the order is unconfirmed.
Before you buy an ironman
- List the specific unlocks you care about and verify each one, not just total level.
- Ask which achievement diaries and quests are complete.
- Ask whether the registration email is included and unrecovered — in the order chat.
- Ask how many times the account has been sold.
- Change every credential, verify the bank yourself, then confirm.
Worth knowing before you buy
Account trading breaches Jagex's terms of service. An ironman that is recovered or banned cannot be replaced by spending money, which makes the downside here worse than on a tradeable account. Escrow protects the payment only.
