What 100M actually buys
100M is mid-game money. It comfortably covers a full set of Barrows gear, a whip or a Bandos godsword depending on the week, and the supplies to actually use them for a few weeks of PvM. If you are stepping into Vorkath, Zulrah or mid-level slayer, this is the amount that stops you from banking after every trip.
What it does not cover is anything raids-tier. Twisted bow, scythe and shadow all live in the hundreds of millions to low billions, and buying 100M expecting to walk into Chambers of Xeric kitted out will disappoint you. If that is the goal, the honest answer is that you are looking at a different order of magnitude — see our 1B page.
The other common use is skilling. 100M funds a substantial chunk of a 99 in a buyable skill — herblore, construction, prayer — though where exactly it lands depends entirely on Grand Exchange prices that week. Price the materials before you buy the gold, not after.
How the price per 1M is set
Nobody sets a fixed rate for OSRS gold, including us. Sellers price their own stock, and the rate moves with how much gold is in circulation, how many sellers are competing on a given day, and what the payment rail costs them. A seller taking crypto has different costs to one taking a bank transfer, and that shows up in the price.
Every gold listing here shows its price per 1M next to the stock available, so you are comparing the same unit across sellers rather than working out which bundle is better value. Buying 100M from a seller with 400M in stock is usually cheaper per 1M than buying from someone clearing out their last 100M, because they are pricing for volume.
How delivery works
Delivery is an ordinary in-game trade. Once your order is placed the money moves out of your wallet into an escrow hold, the seller can see the order is funded, and the two of you agree a world and a meeting point in the order chat — the Grand Exchange in a members world is the usual choice because it is busy enough to be unremarkable.
You accept the trade, you confirm delivery on the order page, and only then does the seller get paid. If the gold does not arrive, do not confirm. Opening a dispute freezes the escrow release and flags the order for review.
For 100M, delivery is normally a single trade. The in-game trade screen has no practical ceiling that matters at this size, so anyone proposing to split it across several trades or asking you to meet somewhere unusual is adding steps that do not need to exist. Ask why in the order chat before agreeing.
Before you order 100M
- Compare price per 1M across at least three listings — the spread between sellers is usually wider than people expect.
- Check the seller has 100M in stock in one listing rather than needing several orders.
- Have your character logged in and free before you order, so the trade happens while the seller is still online.
- Price the gear or materials you are buying first. GP is only worth what it buys that week.
- Never confirm delivery until the gold is in your inventory.
Worth knowing before you buy
Buying gold for real money breaches Jagex's terms of service and can result in action against your account, up to a permanent ban. Escrow protects your payment — it cannot protect your game account. Decide with that in mind.
